It is the culmination of the constant search for excellence in order to interpret our terroir and produce a great cool climate red wine.

Syrah 65%

Malbec 30%

Pinot Noir 5%

This wine is born from the finest soils of our vineyard, perched high in the hills, in a wonderful parcel called La Trampa, which inspired its name.

La Trampa draws us into a magical tale, where two hills converge in the warmest part of our vineyards. The morning mist becomes immersed among the vines, which seem to set a trap by embracing it and refusing to let it go. This trapped mist creates an ideal microclimate for the slow ripening of the red grape varieties in this remarkable blend: Syrah, Malbec, and Pinot Noir.

In the winery, these grapes gradually revealtheir finest

expression over time, and it is the winemaker who ultimately

determines the proportion of each variety that will define each

vintage of La Trampa.

A bit of history

The origin of “La Trampa” dates back to the early 2000’s, when the dream of the “Great Chilean Cool - Climate Red” began to take shape through an nnovative proposal of planting low-yielding Syrah on granitic soils at the top of our hills.

From the moment the first Syrah vines were planted on the slopes of “La Trampa,” we knew we had chosen the best terroir to fulfill our goal. Later, advances in topography and knowledge of our vineyard led us to plant Malbec in the same soils and in another part of the hill facing east, where we saw the best Pinot Noir we have ever cultivated grow.

Over the years, experience showed us that complementing our Syrah with Malbec and, later, Pinot Noir would give rise to this great wine, achieving a deep finesse and elegance like no other blend from a cold climate.
