Casa Mirador is a 100% sustainable project. Its design was based on three fundamental principles; photovoltaic power generation, passive ventilation systems and ecologic air conditioning and water reuse.
The photovoltaic system, designed and implemented by iEnergía, consists of a set of 15 photosensitive panels, which through 3 inverters simultaneously transfers the energy to 12 deep cycle batteries.
The lighting system was designed also to minimize the power usage.
The passive cooling requirements were determining factors for the architecture design in terms of orientation, both regarding the sun as to the prevailing winds, based on controlling the internal thermal comfort through the usage of both natural power sources.
